Student in California, Damien Mercier first brought the slackline in his head. In 2004, he found one in the depths of the Internet.
Passionate about the practice, Damien created his company at 25, in 2005.
As a pioneer of Slacklining, he regularly attended the nascent European scene to enrich his knowledge. He became friend with Jon Ritson at the first international slackline gathering in Scotland and shared a similar adventure in Norway with Christian Schou, founder of Slakkline.no.
With his new experiences and supported by Jon, Damien set up the first French highline in the Parmelan massif in Annecy. The first of a long series.
He continued to support the practice with Slack being at Millau Natural Games from 2009. It is during this same event in 2012 that he tragically went away.
Damien was someone open, generous, shareholder and traveler.
The Damien Mercier Slackline Fund is intended for all those who wish to explore and share in the humanitarian context the slackline in the world. For further information and applications, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, we will send you a file.
