Three years ago, we wrote the first version of what we called the Highline guide. This guide showed the state of art through a description of the “Hole de Mercier” highline setup. Today, highlines popped out in France and all over the world, as well as highliners. Gear evolves and rigging techniques too. Highlining is no more reserved to a few people and nearly becomes a mandatory step to the practice of slacklining for everyone involved into it.

The evolution is incredible, as it spreads quickly. Nevertheless, the more highliners doesn’t mean the more access and safety for beginners. This year, there’s been a few incidents, some serious accidents and somebody died.

The highline guide is now from the past, Highline.fr website takes the lead, keeping the same frame but adding some other views and ideas to rig a highline, as every spot is different and every setup unique. Once more, this guide should not be followed without being critical, as you are responsible for yourself and it is your best safety when you highline.

Highlining is a dangerous sport that can cause severe injuries or death. This website or its authors cannot be held responsible for what you will do while highlining. Be safe.

To conclude on a proverb which makes sense when several people are rigging a highline together : “To trust is good. To check is better !”

We are here for any questions, suggests or comments.
